Did you ever notice that Google has more instances of war (98,000,000) than of peace (28,900,000)? These numbers change every day, of course, but the proportion doesn’t vary that much.

Ivan is back. And so is Jeanne. After US officials had pretty much declared Ivan defunct, it has been reborn from its ashes and takes new strength back where it came from, or almost. Jeanne is also on its way back to Florida and the Caribbean.

Countries rich and poor are recovering from the damage caused by these and other storms the past few weeks and they are now getting ready to face them — again.
